This workshop will encourage active participation in developing a meaningful and useful transition plan to help students prepare for life as an adult when they finish school. A transition plan is a required part of the IEP for Virginia students aged 14 and older. Attendees will learn what needs to be in the transition plan and what the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) says about transition services.
The GCPS elementary instructional team would like to thank the members of several local Gloucester historical organizations and the Gloucester Museum of History for coming together to help develop educational opportunities for our GCPS students. We want to provide the opportunities necessary to keep our students in the local workforce! August At a glance
Summer School-A-Palooza Math Bowl 2024! Our elementary summer school students from the north end of the county who attended Petsworth and those who attended the south end of the county location, Achilles competed today as a culminating event for all of their hard work in Summer School-A-Palooza! We are so proud of our students for preparing to compete in a logics and engineering competition. We had teams earn gold, silver and bronze medals as well as pins for the top logics team and top engineering team. Also, one of our students earned a medal for the highest number of math facts solved in a timed competition. A BIG thank you to our teachers for making summer learning fun and to our division K-5 math specialist, Mrs. Jenkins, for providing this amazing opportunity for our students to showcase their work.
