Summer School-A-Palooza Math Bowl 2024! Our elementary summer school students from the north end of the county who attended Petsworth and those who attended the south end of the county location, Achilles competed today as a culminating event for all of their hard work in Summer School-A-Palooza! We are so proud of our students for preparing to compete in a logics and engineering competition. We had teams earn gold, silver and bronze medals as well as pins for the top logics team and top engineering team. Also, one of our students earned a medal for the highest number of math facts solved in a timed competition. A BIG thank you to our teachers for making summer learning fun and to our division K-5 math specialist, Mrs. Jenkins, for providing this amazing opportunity for our students to showcase their work. Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. The GCPS Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) will meet at the TC Walker Education Center in room A111 on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will include a presentation on “Autism Awareness Month”. Families are welcome to join. 📢 Reminder: Early Dismissal on Friday, May 3rd! ⏰ Page & Peasley Middle Schools will dismiss at 12:20 PM, GHS at 12:30 PM, and all elementary schools at 1:30 PM. Please plan accordingly!


Good afternoon,
We're pleased to inform you that Peasley Middle School, as well as Bethel and Petsworth Elementary, have been approved to end their secure status, allowing for the dismissal of all students and staff on time. All afternoon activities will proceed as scheduled. This decision follows close collaboration with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, and we appreciate their assistance throughout this process. We also extend our gratitude to parents and the community for their trust and patience.
We encourage parents/guardians to review the Standard Response Protocol resources shared on the GCPS website on April 26, 2024. Additionally, we thank students, staff, and family members for adhering to our safety response.
