Good morning,

At approximately 8:50 this morning, Gloucester High School was evacuated due to a gas leak detected on the roof. Our priority was the safety of all students and staff. Fire and life safety teams responded immediately, and parents and students were promptly notified via email and text by 8:55.

Students remained safe in the stadium area while we awaited confirmation from the fire department. At approximately 9:28 am, the building was declared safe, and everyone was allowed to reenter.

We are incredibly grateful for the calm cooperation of our students and staff, and for the swift, professional response from the fire department and the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

Thank you for your continued support as we ensure the safety of our school community.

Operations have now resumed as normal.

Sincerely,

Stefan Mygas, Ed.D.
Principal, Gloucester High School
