Dear Parents and Staff,
We want to provide you with an important update regarding the incident that occurred earlier today at Achilles Elementary School. At approximately 11:00 am, the Abingdon Fire Department responded to reports of smoke emanating from a sink in one of the classrooms.
We are relieved to inform you that the building has been cleared by the fire department, and it is safe for students and staff to re-enter the school building. All students have been accounted for and are returning to their classrooms.
We want to reassure you that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding throughout the evacuation process.
